Volunteering Adventure: Garden Village Children Outreach in Cape Town, South Africa

This project is situated in a small village where poverty and social problems are high and these factors negatively influence the development of young children in this area. This outreach was started with minimal funding in order to make a change and positively influence the outcome of these children's lives. This project is a nursery school for children aged 3 - 6 years in the mornings. In the afternoons an aftercare is run for older school-going children to nurture the value of education and keep them stimulated.

Itinerary

Duties of volunteering can include:

- Assisting the teachers with caring
- Providing attention and encouragement to children
- Music stimulation for the children
- Teaching dancing skills
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Administrative duties
- Assisting older children with homework
- Staff training

Cancellation policy

Any notification of cancellation must be done in writing. The date on which the cancellation is received by us will determine the charges applicable. The following charges apply when cancellation takes place:

- Before 30 days of commencement date: 50% of programme fees retained
- Within 30 days of commencement date: 100% of programme fees retained
- If the volunteer fails to join our programme; joins after the commencement date; or leaves prior to completion date - NO REFUNDS or LIABILITY will be entertained by the volunteering agency.

Please note: The listed rates can be affected by changes in the exchange rate. Please enquire for up to date prices. Upon booking confirmation, a deposit of 50% is required in order to secure the booking.

- Transport to and from Cape Town International Airport on commencement day and on final day of the tour
- Welcome dinner and orientation
- Self-catering accommodation
- 3 day tour of the Western Cape
