There are a number of ways to get around the Cape, including taxis, trains, minibuses and buses. Public transport can be somewhat limiting though, if you really want to get out and about in the Cape, we recommend you hire a car.

The international airport in Cape Town is the 2nd biggest in the country, and provides both domestic and international flights. The airport is undergoing a number if upgrades in preparation for the FIFA World Cup being held in South Africa in 2010.

There are 2 long distance rail services that operate out of Cape Town. There is one that runs from Durban (via Pietermaritzburg, Bloemfontein and Kimberley) weekly, as well as a daily operation to Johannesburg (via Kimberley). Once you are in Cape Town, the ‘Metrorail' runs services around the city and surrounding areas.
